Kraken promotes Funded and Prop evaluation accounts again

Kraken put Funded and Prop back in front of users on August 27, 2026. The official Kraken account promoted Kraken Funded with a challenge model: pass an evaluation, unlock up to $10,000 of Kraken capital and keep 80% of profits. The official Kraken Pro account also pointed users to Kraken Prop for Nasdaq 100 trading, with 24/7 markets, leverage, overnight holds, no expiry and funded accounts starting from $20.

Those posts are short, so they should be read alongside Kraken's own product pages and blog posts. Kraken Funded is a challenge-based program inside the Kraken mobile app. Eligible customers pay a one-time entry fee and trade in a simulated environment. If they complete the challenge, Kraken says they can receive a funded account backed by Kraken capital. Kraken's Funded page also describes a 12% profit target, no trading fees on the funded account, no daily limit and an 80% profit share.

Kraken Prop is the related funded-account trading program promoted through Kraken Pro. Kraken's official blog says Prop added the Nasdaq 100 as its first market outside crypto, with 24/7 access, no expiry and evaluation tiers starting at $20. A later Kraken post said leverage rose to as much as 10x on Bitcoin, Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500, with a higher notional cap for the S&P 500.

The important boundary is that these are evaluation programs, not ordinary spot trading products. Kraken's own risk language says the service is unregulated, most applicants do not pass on their first attempt, evaluation fees are non-refundable once trading begins and any payout is a discretionary performance fee rather than an investment return.
