Kraken has opened a GNOT spot trading challenge on Kraken Pro with a total prize pool of 500,000 GNOT. The promotion began at 11:00 UTC on September 23, 2026 and ends at 23:59 UTC on October 14.
Participants must enroll before trading. Trades completed before enrollment do not count, and each participant needs at least 3,000 GNOT in eligible spot trading volume to qualify. The competition page shows an estimated dollar equivalent, but that figure changes with the GNOT price. The fixed threshold in Kraken's official rules is 3,000 GNOT.
The competition ranks participants by completed GNOT spot trading volume on Kraken Pro. First place receives 40,000 GNOT. Ranks two and three receive 30,000 GNOT each, ranks four through ten receive 10,000 GNOT each, ranks 11 through 50 receive 3,000 GNOT each, and ranks 51 through 200 receive 800 GNOT each. Participants ranked 201 or lower share the remaining 90,000 GNOT in proportion to their qualifying volume.
One detail deserves attention. The public competition page currently includes a sentence referring to realized profit, while its leaderboard and the official rules use trading volume. Kraken's rules state that they control if promotional material conflicts with them. Participants should therefore use the official rules when checking the threshold, ranking method and payout timetable.
The promotion is open to eligible customers in the European Economic Area, the United States except Maine and New York, and other supported jurisdictions. UK residents are excluded. An account must remain in good standing, and Intermediate verification or any additional verification required by Kraken must be complete before a reward is paid. Volume from subaccounts does not count.
Kraken may disqualify wash trades, self-dealing, coordinated activity, multiple-account participation, VPN circumvention and other attempts to inflate volume. The official rules allow rewards to be credited within 30 days after the promotion ends, even though the competition page says they should appear within 14 days. The rules are the safer timetable to rely on.
GNOT became available for trading on Kraken on September 16. It is the native coin of Gno.land, an open-source smart contract platform that stores human-readable contracts on-chain. GNOT is used for execution, gas and storage deposits on the network.
This is a spot competition rather than a leveraged futures challenge, but trading more solely to improve a leaderboard position can still expose a participant to price movement and costs that exceed the eventual reward. The promotion is most relevant to traders who already intend to trade GNOT and meet the eligibility rules.
