Kraken Prime now has a full interface

Kraken published a new Kraken Prime update on August 27, 2026. The main change is practical: Prime is no longer described only as an API access platform. Kraken says it is now a full institutional interface for execution, settlement, access controls and order management.

The update is aimed at institutional clients that already use, or are evaluating, Kraken's higher touch trading infrastructure. Prime gives clients access to multi-venue liquidity, desk-managed execution, post-trade net settlement and programmatic pricing inside one regulated relationship. Kraken says clients can access programmatic pricing with no spread markup, while noting that other fees may apply.

Settlement is the clearest operational change. Kraken says Prime clients can now trade against a credit limit, settle net at the end of a cycle, create batches, view live exposure, confirm settlement and export PDF or CSV reports from the interface. Clients that want less manual work can set standing instructions so Prime Middle Office handles both sides of settlement automatically. Batch scheduling and automated net summary emails are live, with full settlement automation still planned.

The new activity view also matters for operations and compliance teams. Orders, fills and trade history now sit in one blotter whether a trade was placed through the interface, through the API or by the desk. Kraken also added team-level access controls, including trading and view-only permissions, API key configuration and credential revocation.

Prime now supports limit orders, market orders, Spot RFQs and TWAP directly in the interface. Kraken says the interface previously supported only OTC RFQ. For KrakenReferral readers, the takeaway is narrow: this is an institutional product update, not a retail spot trading change. Eligibility, jurisdiction and OTC risk limits still apply.
