A Kraken listazta a SoFiUSD-t a Payward es SoFi partnersége utan went live with Kraken's September 4, 2026 SOFID listing. The article is based on Kraken's official announcement and treats external context only as background.
SOFID is SoFiUSD, a U.S. dollar payment stablecoin issued by SoFi Bank, N.A. Kraken says SoFi Bank is regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The asset is designed for payment and settlement use rather than investment use, and it is issued on Ethereum and Solana.
Kraken says SoFi Bank maintains reserve assets intended to at least equal the outstanding SOFID supply. SoFi publishes reporting on supply and reserve composition, with attestations by an independent CPA licensed in the United States.
The main caveat is redemption. Issuance and redemption at par are handled by SoFi Bank with approved SoFi customers under separate agreements. Holding or transferring SOFID alone does not automatically create a redemption right with the issuer, and secondary market prices can move above or below one dollar.
Kraken also says SOFID is not a deposit, is not insured by the FDIC or SIPC, is not legal tender, and does not pay interest or yield. Kraken App and Instant Buy access may depend on liquidity, and geographic restrictions may apply.
For KrakenReferral readers, the practical reading is simple: SOFID is live on Kraken, but it should be checked against its stablecoin terms, supported networks, eligibility limits and redemption rules before use.
